We have all seen the heartbreaking lives of men and women who have horrible injuries or sicknesses. A ten-year old in a car accident that leaves him paralyzed for life. A healthy mother who is diagnosed with lung cancer, and succumbs to it within a few months. Why do these tragedies happen? Does God not care?

We all know that God performs miracles, right? His son walked on water. His prophet lifted the sea so that the Jews could escape the Egyptians. Why can't He find a doctor that can heal that boy's spine or cure that mother's cancer? While these tragedies that happen are horrible, there still is hope with them that they won't last forever.
First off, I do want to say that I don't know and we will probably never know the reason in this life. But I do know this: eternity makes up a huge percentage of our experience. We know that after the Resurrection, we will have perfect bodies and be reunited with our loved ones for all of forever. There is always that hope and that truth that one day, everything will be made right and we will get the answers to why certain tragedies happened on Earth. I also came to this revelation recently, that definitely is not a complete answer of why but it kind of is. I received a revelation that if everything was made perfect in this life, the miracle of the Resurrection won't be as appreciated or miraculous if there is nothing to correct.
I hope that this blog post was inspiring and helpful. Let me know in the comments how you handle hardships and why the next life is so important!
